This is a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to lead a high-performing department and drive academic excellence across the curriculum.

The Role

  • Leading and managing the Business department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student attainment across KS4 and KS5.

  • Designing and overseeing a stimulating curriculum that covers GCSE, A-Level, and vocational pathways (such as BTEC or CTEC), ensuring it remains rigorous and industry-relevant.

  • Mentoring and developing departmental staff through professional learning, peer observations, and collaborative planning.

  • Driving the integration of digital resources and modern pedagogical techniques to enhance student understanding of global markets and enterprise.

  • Monitoring student data with precision to implement effective interventions and maintain a track record of exceptional results.

  • Coordinating departmental resources and managing budgets to ensure a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A strong honors degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a successful teacher at KS4 and KS5, with a track record of achieving top grades in both academic and vocational qualifications.

  • Previous leadership experience (e.g., Key Stage Lead or Second in Department) or a clear readiness to step into a Head of Department role.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a professional, resilient approach to school leadership.

  • A commitment to fostering links with local businesses and providing students with real-world insights into the commercial sector.
